What are the benefits of using play4ateam.com?

The main benefit of using this site is that anyone who is looking to find a local sporting team can find one which suits their own specific needs regardless of age or ability.

Individual users can also use the site to post comments/blogs/articles, buy and sell sporting goods and participate in polls.

You can also get involved in refereeing, coaching or volunteering, find useful fitness and dietary tips and find experts in the sporting field to help with fitness and injuries.

Clubs can find referees, coaches and friendly matches and can build their own interactive web page to fully manage their clubs throughout their sporting season.


How much does it cost to use the site?

As Play4ateam.com is committed to increasing participation in UK sport the site is completely free to use for individuals and clubs/teams.


How do I search for a team?

Firstly sign-up or log-in to the site in the top-right hand corner of the home page.

Choose the 'Find a team or playing partner' option on the left hand menu bar.

Add the sport you are interested in and your town, county or postcode.

The results will display the name, ability and location of teams or playing partners in your local area.

Simply click on the name of each one to see more details.


How do I contact a team or playing partner?

Simply click on the 'contact this team' button at the bottom of the profile you have selected. You will be given space to add a message to send to that club or playing partner. A membership request will then be displayed on their profile for acceptance.


What if I can't find a team I want to play for?

If there are no teams currently looking for players in your area you will be given the opportunity to build your own profile on the site.


How do I find new players for my team?

If you are looking for new players, you will need to build a profile so players can find your club or team. As 'manager' of your club you will have overall control of the content of your club's profile.


How do I build a profile (See Example) for myself or my team?

Firstly sign-up or log-in to the site in the top-right hand corner of the home page.

Go to the 'Clubs' button on the left-hand menu bar.

Choose 'Add a club or individual profile'.
Initially you will be asked to add your sport, location and ability levels. The next page will give you the opportunity to add as much or as little information as possible about you or your club.

You can add any of the following information:



You can then enter your team members' individual email addresses. Emails will then automatically be sent out to them linking back to your profile.


How can I arrange my club's games?


All you need do is login to your club profile. Then...

1) Select 'Add your next fixture and confirm team members' availability'

2) Add match details and select 'Add'

3) Send!

How does 'Team Chat' work?


The 'team chat' is a private facility for individual team members to post any messages for other team members to view.

Simply enter your message in the 'Post a New Message' box at the bottom of the club profile. Your message will then be displayed instantly at the top of the 'Team Chat'.


I've made a mistake on my profile, how can I rectify it?

Most club or playing partner details can be changed yourself by simply going back into your profile (use the edit or delete buttons underneath every category). If however you would like to change certain details like your sport, the name of your club or the ability at which you play please send your amended details to enquiries@play4ateam.com and we will amend them accordingly.


How can I change the club 'manager'?


Simply use the 'Change Team Manager' option and select which team member will take over the profile management role.


How long will my details remain on the site?

Your details will remain on the site for as long as you want them to. When you place your profile there is an administration function that will allow you to change and update your profile. You will also be able to post and remove your availability to teams. If you want to completely remove your individual or club profile just drop us an email at enquiries@play4ateam.com with 'Delete profile' together with your team/individual name in the subject field.
