All Time World Cup!

BRAZIL

Brazil would be managed by Mario Zagallo – a winner as a player in 1958 and ’62, as head coach to the legendary 1970 team, and assistant manager in 1994.

Arguably no-one has more World Cup experience, and if anyone could find a way of combining all those talented players into a cohesive whole, it was surely the ‘Old Wolf’. Pele of course would be the focal point, and Garrincha a similarly automatic choice on the right, but elsewhere the competition for places would be so tight that who to leave out would be a major headache for the coach.

He left himself out of the playing squad entirely, along with the likes of Rivaldo, Eder, Socrates, Junior, Careca, Artur Friedenreich and Roberto Carlos –any of whom would walk into most of the other teams in the tournament.
